Expert career’s office advice and peers was “Factory, Office or Retail…?”Went into Screen Printing, made my way up from trainee printer through to being in upper sales management, assisting my MD by enabling him to buy a new Ferrari once every two years.Assisted by unforeseen divorce, in my 30s, walked away from print and marketing, gladly leaving behind Nobo White Boards, Call Bleepers, life sucking sales targets and people punching the air because of large sales contracts being won hailing the manufacture and production of more pallet loads of POS plastic signage and vinyl stickers that would end up in landfills only weeks later.Began Spirit Music, a music agency and management company, producing tours in the UK and mainland Europe, mainly for musicians from the USA. Took care of everything, including all media publicity, particularly magazine, TV and radio. Developed successful tour circuit around a framework of Art Centres, Festivals.Took time out to fulfil a lifelong ambition to go to Art College and take a Fine Art BA. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Two years in and despite medical advice telling Gillian, some years previously that it would never happen, our baby son arrived. With that, I became a househusband, taking care of our new family member. 1999. Negotiated purchase of Document Records, based in Vienna, Austria and brought the company, with over twenty-five thousand recordings and a stock of one-hundred and seventy-five thousand CDS, over to the UK. Originally formed in 1986, Document reputedly has the largest catalogue of vintage Blues, Gospel, Jazz and Early Pre-Country Music in the world. Worked on major projects with artists such as Paul Simon, Bill Wyman, John Mayall, Jack White and others.Through Document Records and Hull Music Publishing, we have licensed music for TV and Movies, mainly in the USA, working with SONY, Warner, Universal and many more.Presented the ‘Keeping The Blues Alive’ award for 2018 by the Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation, based in Memphis.Am currently working towards the launch of a new streaming service, CAD3NCE with a trendy 3 in its name. The service, due to be launched in October / November 2021, will offer to its subscribers a vast and ever-growing selection of music related videos including our own productions.
