I worked as the Operations and Service Manager, reporting directly to the company director for one of the longest established hand and power tool retailers and repair agents in the UK. My role as Operations Manager was to ensure the smooth running of all business practices, processes and systems. This was to ensure they were carried out correctly and cost effective.

I was responsible for sales throughout the business including the account, retail store and telesales. This was achieved by working closely with the sales team to ensure they had the skills and training to carry out their duties.Alongside this, I was the lead in the project management of creating the companies first online presence. My role was to develop and manage products, which consisted of both in house stock and supplier data feeds, over multiple market places.

This was a newly developed role which I was asked to undertake to develop existing and new clients within the Essex and surrounding regions due to a fall in sales. I was responsible for managing my own time and workload to cultivate relationships with customers. I had to generate tailored promotions to fit individual clients needs in order to drive sales.

I was promoted to Store Manager for a sister company within the company group.This came at a time when the company (Buck & Ryan Ltd) were looking to move premises. I was a lead in the project to ensure a smooth transition between premises whilst maintaining sales and still giving excellent customer service. My role was to also ensure that the sales team were trained in a wide variety of products and had the relevant knowledge required to sell them. This was to ensure they were competent in offering valued advice, as well as generating sales.

Responsible for welcoming customers to the store, talking to and advising them. I was also responsible for supporting the store in meeting its sales targets by recommending products to customers and making sure the shelves were stocked and replenished.
