Built a company and associated services to meet the accounting, tax, and payroll needs of small-to-medium businesses across the Greater Cincinnati/Dayton/Indianapolis areas. Core points of difference centered on: a) a distinct approach that fit targeted clients' needs (such as fixed monthly fees and tailored high-touch service); and b) proprietary and user-friendly payroll software. Created adjacent ventures in e-filing and asset management to round out what clients were seeking. Sold company at better-than-average multiplier to a European bank with a desire to enter the US market -- especially keen on the burgeoning and highly profitable payroll business. Deal included retention program for existing employees. Since then, have been managing various investments including toeholds in some start-ups with particular interest in the tech and health care industries.
