-Worked in the 3600/C280 Product Group responsible for:-Reviewing, tracking and obtaining short parts for not only 3600/C280 but also all gas engines at both the Lafayette and Griffin engine centers.-Managed a "Supplier Communication" project focused on a situational process that determined to whom to speak as well as the associated message.-Assisted with the transition of engine upgrade kits from an outsourced supplier to an internal source in which case shipping performance went from 30% to 98% on time.-Worked with distressed suppliers both strategically and tactically to understand the metrics, own the issues and put improvements in place to prevent reoccurrence.-Served as conduit between the supplier and the plant when a misunderstanding occurred.-Worked between Parts Service, the Plant and the Supplier when needs collided.-Assisted in development of the Supplier Development Position.-Tracked all gas engines through the process from order to delivery and removed roadblocks in support of shipping on time.-Assisted in shipping a record number of large engines in both 2018 and 2019.

Responsible for procurement of purchased finished direct material from 800 plus suppliers, including that in SMI warehouses, as well as rough castings and forgings; inventory turns, Master Scheduling and demand planning. Also, design, implementation and administration of the Cost of Poor Delivery process. Recently added Supplier Development Engineers to my team.

Responsible for successful delivery of custom genset packages for the petroleum industry. The gensets were for both offshore and land mechanical drilling operations. As Project Manager I lead a team of seven Project Coordinators. The gensets were built at both our Lafayette, IN and Griffin, GA facilities. My team was responsible for the project from concept to commission. We are the single point of contact for the customer. My coordinators work with Engineering, the Dealers, Accounting and Operations.

As New Product Program Manager I was responsible for putting the G3520C/E, G3520C Landfill as well as the G3520B PII engines into production. This involved leading teams made up of Engineering, Customer Service, Accounting, Purchasing, Product Support and Quality. All programs were on tight timelines therefore developing, and sticking, to the plan were of the utmost importance.

As a Supplier Development Engineer with Caterpillar’s Global Engine Supplier Management, I was responsible for project managing, coordinating and implementing cost reduction initiatives. I also served as a Purchasing resource for new product teams. My duties included selecting suppliers, issuing quotes and developing target costs. In this position I used the skills obtained from ISO auditing, Advanced Product Quality Planning, PPAP, Supplier Readiness Reviews, Measurement System Analysis, FMEA’s, Design of Experiments; Process Change Management and Geometric Tolerancing to name a few.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, I was responsible for all of the foreign and high dollar, suppliers. My commodity assignments include air systems, fuel systems, valve train, heat transfer and bearings. My responsibility ranges from the day-to-day activity to that of process control at the supplier. This includes tracking rejections, processing deviations, working with Engineering, Assembly and Manufacturing. The objective is to keep product going off the end of the assembly line. Internal and external auditing is another function of this position.
