Pipefitter/fabricator in Syngenta part of a maintenance squad. I am involved in various shutdowns and maintenance work around the site,which include fabricating spools,pipe supports from drawings and site runs,installing pipework and choosing the correct gaskets and bolts for the job. Also stripping and removing vessels for inspection and testing. I am trained in doing chemical breakins on pipelines and changing safety valves and bursting discs. Mostly involved in everyday engineering activities on site

Went there to finish my apprenticeship after being at met tech in Grangemouth. I was employed by a medium sized engineering company which offered a wide range of engineering fabrication pipe work and steelwork, primary for customers in the petrochemical, utilities, distilling and industrial processing industries.Major projects included M.O.D sites, chemical sites, sewage plants, Rolls Royce, Longannet Power Station and in our fabricating workshop. Duties included fabricating spools in our workshop of various pipe and sizes and then fit at sites.
