Gary Berner has more than 27 years of investment management experience. He began his career at Smith Barney in Beverly Hills in 1996. After building a successful practice as a Financial Advisor and Portfolio Manager, he added branch management to his responsibilities in 2002. He joined Merrill Lynch in 2004 to manage their Woodland Hills branch. After several years in branch management, Gary decided to focus on investment management for his clients. He rejoined Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 2012, and most recently moved his practice to Wells Fargo Advisors in 2022. His practice focuses on customized financial planning, investment management consulting, and discretionary portfolio management for a select number of affluent families and businesses. Because of the nature of his clientele, his investment discipline is biased towards preservation of capital, running portfolios of high quality stocks and bonds to help achieve his clients financial objectives. Professionals in this industry too often fall in love with the complexity of their tools, and forget that sometimes simplicity is wisdom. Often, the best investments are the ones you already own. Gary is married with two children.
