• Manage and conduct onboard maintenance and administration of marine technical matters; • Manage and operate the system for scheduling and recording planned and corrective maintenance; monitor its effectiveness for the vessel and, if necessary, propose amendments for its use; • Manage and conduct breakdown/damage repairs based on risk management principles and monitor overall effectiveness;• Manage and conduct daily operations and routine maintenance activities on all shipboard… Show more • Manage and conduct onboard maintenance and administration of marine technical matters; • Manage and operate the system for scheduling and recording planned and corrective maintenance; monitor its effectiveness for the vessel and, if necessary, propose amendments for its use; • Manage and conduct breakdown/damage repairs based on risk management principles and monitor overall effectiveness;• Manage and conduct daily operations and routine maintenance activities on all shipboard machinery and systems above and below all decks; • Manage the preparations for and oversee the performance of non-routine maintenance or major repairs by contractors on ACVs and other vessels under Customs and Border Protection control; • Act as the Customs and Border Protection representative during the ACV’s annual slipping; • Prepare and approve Maintenance Control Records by using the Computerised Maintenance Management System; • Oversee the management of the ACV’s technical administration, including, the Ships Oil Analysis Programme (SOAP), Maintenance Control Records (MCR), Technical Directives (TD) and Technical Acquaints (TA); • Manage the production of the vessel’s deck and engineering maintenance plan and oversee the management of the engineering maintenance plan. • Manage the embarkation, integrity, usage and discharge of all fluids (fuel, lubricants, fresh water, grey and black water and sewage); • Advise other crew members on how to correctly run, maintain and document their vessels’ hull, machinery, fluid and electrical/electronic systems and equipment; • Interpret and apply the Work Health and Safety Act and other relevant maritime industry legislation; • Supervise the First Engineer and manage their performance, career training and professional development in accordance with Customs and Border Protection policies; • Oversee the management of the onboard spares system; Show less
