Since working for Total solutions I have been involved in work within the Wylfa Nuclear Power Station. I am currently working on the refurbishment of the Middlesbrough Transporter bridge, as the only level 3 rope access employee on site I am managing the project and ensuring all safety regulations are complied with. The daily operations of this role include staff management; identifying and monitoring safe practise, ensuring all staff understand emergency procedures and are complying with the engineer’s project specification.

Having worked on many sites and locations through-out the country with various different duties it has given me the confidence and experience to manage and work alongside contractors, site managers and the general public. During my career the duties I have carried out include; hand drilling and various rigs for vertical blast holes, horizontal rock bolting and the installation of all types of rock anchors, mini piles, dowels, and soil nails. I have worked on sites doing shot firing, specialising in close proximity blasting with gelignite. As a rope access technician and supervisor I have undergone many jobs which have entailed rock and slope stabilisation, using netting and gabions. Other jobs have included pressure pointing and pressure grouting and general construction works. Construction work has also included the rebuilding of bridges.
