This included demonstrated experience in policies and programs relating to information, personnel, physical and technical security, building security, identification media and insider threats.

    GS-0083-04/05 DoD police officer working for the Navy. As a police officer I conducted routine patrols, enforced base, state and federal laws and wrote incident reports. I conducted investigations into crimes and attended and testified in court. I became a field training officer where I instructed field training employees on basic law enforcement and patrol procedures. In 1997 I was promoted to GS0083-06 lead police officer/Corporal. I was assigned as the desk sergeant and road supervisor where I assigned work, responded to incidents to ensure the proper rules and regulations were being administered. I was asked to start up the first NAS JAX basic law enforcement academy. I instructed 3 10-week courses on basic law enforcement, self-defense and firearms training over 40 new officers prior to promoting out of the position. In 1999 I was promoted to GS-0083-08 Police Lieutenant where I served as the senior watch officer in charge of all police, investigations and K9 support personnel assigned to bravo shift. I was required to obtain a comprehensive knowledge of administrative laws, policies, precedents and regulations applicable to law enforcement program management and administration. I attended several courses of instruction to maintain my instructor certifications. I continued to teach basic and advance law enforcement techniques and in 2000 I was asked to take a temporary promotion to GS-1712-09 Chief of Police Training. After 6 months in the position, I applied for and accepted the position full time. As the chief of training, I managed the training department and supervised all Lieutenants, Sergeants and patrolmen who were sent through training for the mandatory 80 hours of basic law enforcement and/or advanced training in firearms or self-defense. After 9/11 I was asked to look into the base physical security program where I made improvements and conducted exercises on the response force. I was assigned as the ATO prior to promoting out of the command.
