I took up employment within Tim Holian & Co Accountants in Athenry, as an Accounts Assistant in January 2018. I quickly elevated to the position of head assistant in a small office. I was the first point of contact for clients, answering all the calls and meeting all client when they entered the office.My duties included:• Recording sales and purchases invoices.• Completing VAT reports in preparation for VAT returns.• Completing personal and company accounts with all sections including, Stock, Debtors, Creditors, Bank Reconciliations, Capital and Profit.• Preparing clients Income Tax Returns, including completing Forms 11 and 12.• Looking after payroll for clients, preparing wages and P30’s.This role gave me experience engaging with clients and developing an excellent phone manner.I also greatly improved my administration skills, filing client documents when received and checking that we have all information required before commencing a job.My IT skills also improved as I gained experience using QuickBooks and Sage for preparing VAT returns, completing Income Tax and end of year accounts. I also gained experience using Thesaurus Payroll software to compete wages for clients.
