On behalf of B&NES Council, I provide competent advice and guidance in relation to all LOTC activities undertaken by schools, subscribing academies, and young people's services. I scrutinise and monitor the quality of planning and Approve those that involve a higher degree risk including overseas visits, residential stays, adventurous activities and those involving open water.I also deliver accredited training for various stakeholder groups associated with the provision of successful, well managed LOTC experiences including Governors, Headteachers, EVCs and teaching staff.

Wiltshire

On behalf of Wiltshire Council I manage the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOTC) Service and represent the interests of Wiltshire Council in matters relating to LOTC on a regional and national basis. Leading on all matters relating to LOTC, I develop policy and guidance in order to establish standards and compliance criteria and apply these across Wiltshire Council activities.I scrutinise and provide advice and monitor all LOTC activities undertaken by schools, subscribing academies, and young people's services, approving those that involve a higher degree risk including overseas visits, residential stays, adventurous activities and those involving open water.I also develop and deliver accredited training for various stakeholder groups associated with the provision of successful, well managed LOTC experiences including Governors, Headteachers, EVCs, teachers and youth workers.

Outdoor Education Advisers Panel Ltd. exists to ensure the effective leadership and management of high quality outdoor education, offsite visits and adventurous activities, for the benefit of the children and young people of England and Wales. Our members are professional and knowledgeable experts who promote best practice by providing guidance, support and training to schools and other establishments. In this voluntary role, I led the Executive Board and represented the Outdoor Education Advisers Panel Ltd to ensure we fulfilled the mission, vision and goals of the organisation.

This voluntary role required me to be registered as Company Secretary working closely with the Chair, Treasurer and other Directors of the organisation to formulate the strategic direction and ensure we fulfilled our vision, mission and goals. I managed the administration of the company, responding to enquiries from members and provided a secretarial function to the Board of Directors with other members of the Executive Board.

In this voluntary role I was a registered Director of the OEAP Ltd and a member of the Executive Board, helping manage the organisation to fulfil it's vision, mission and goals. As part of this role I represented the interests of members from the South West of England and contributed to the Training Development Group.

I established this education consultancy to provide expert advice to Local Authorities, schools and a range of voluntary and private sector organisations. Over three years I worked with a variety of clients helping them create innovative education programmes and environments that transform and inspire teaching and learning.

During my time with this leading landscape architects practice, I provided expert advice and guidance to develop an innovative learning-led design process so as to strengthen their position in the Building Schools for the Future and Academies capital investment programme. Working with the design team I helped to create dynamic, tailored external learning environments in new and refurbished schools throughout England.

I represented the charity at a senior, strategic level and was responsible for the initiation, development, direction and financial management of a portfolio of national and regional funded partnerships and their resulting transformational education programmes worth over £12 million. This required me to work closely with senior representatives of national and local government and from the private sector and was instrumental in the development of a range of innovative programmes that have had a real impact on the lives of thousands of children.
