I have worked in the mortgage industry since 1997.Starting as a filing clerk at the Halifax Bank. Filing and sorting all mortgage documents to held accounts.Then to Abbey National. Starting as a mortgage admin assistant banking cheques, paying proc fees to IDA'S, completing mortgage applications and general admin duties. Moved to the role of Mortgage Advisor, taking mortgage queries from brokers and IDA'S. Explaining all policy guidelines and lending terms, calculating affordability, whilst maximising leads for any new business. Also within the role I had underwriting duties. I gained company underwriting qualifications to level 2sl and could sanction high lending as well as self employed including limited companies.Moving to Barclays Bank. To start as a Mortgage Advisor. Completing mortgage applications on a telephone based team. Working on a non advice lending basis and going through full policy and giving the customer an informed choice, also going through all insurance policies for the customer. I have working on various teams from call centre, to floor walking, supervising money transfers, fees team admin are some of the tasks I have worked. I finally moved to a team in the Mortgage Servicing Team where I worked on offset mortgages, manual calculations and helpful start mortgages.I enjoy the many challenges and variety within working in the mortgage industry. I'm always willing to learn and will try anything new. I can work well on my own, but also great in a team environment.
