Gary Clay has a remarkable story. Raised on a farm near Manchester, TN, his early years were full of family, school, and sports. Dad was a repairman and part-time cattle farmer, Mom was a stay at home mother, and Gary, a very good student. It was there that he developed his core values, self-discipline, and strong work ethic. He attended Tennessee Technological University where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and then joined Square D Company as a Design Engineer. He was promoted to Senior Design Engineer and later to Senior Project Engineer. Gary attended Middle Tennessee University at night and on weekends and earned an MBA degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude. As his career progressed, he became the first Advanced Purchasing Leader in North America for Schneider Electric in his role as Senior Project Sourcing Engineer. Gary is intelligent, disciplined and enjoys a good challenge. At the urging of a friend who had decided to attend law school, Gary decided to join him in the challenge. He enrolled at the Nashville School of Law and attended classes nights and weekends for several years. He endured the rigor of the demanding process and graduated in the top ten percent of his class, earning his Juris Doctorate. He passed the Tennessee Bar Exam in his first attempt. Several years later Gary was promoted to Senior Product Development and Sourcing Manager in the Nashville Design Center of Schneider Electric. Always eager for the challenge to expand his education and knowledge base, Gary has taken additional courses in Accounting and Finance, and also qualified for his TN Insurance License. Gary lives in Brentwood, TN, and is currently seeking a new professional challenge. One where he can apply his values, self-discipline, and strong work ethic and utilize his extensive knowledge and experience to make a substantial contribution to the success of a growth-oriented company.
