One the most rewarding life experiences has been my 24 year career with the Calgary Dream Centre. I enjoy the dynamic nature of the environment, where we are constantly adapting, innovating, and reinventing ourselves. I have partnered with several Missions Outreach Teams to the poor in major American cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and also worked with the poor in the countries of Argentina, Columbia, Russia, Siberia, Germany, and Mexico. For eighteen months I led our CDC “Heart to Heart” Street Outreach Team into the East Village of Calgary. Since June of 2008 I have served the CDC as the Drug Court Liaison where I represented our agency with the Calgary Drug Treatment Court. In this role I screen potential participants at Remand or in the Court cells, perform drug testing, as well as report on their progress in the CDC program on a weekly basis. In November of 2009 I had the opportunity to be a participant in the Betty Ford Institute’s, “Professionals in Residence” training program. I was able to observe and bring back some of their best practices in Case Management. In my current role of Director of Communities, I act as the liaison for our 9 Business Units. I have developed an effective and open style in my relational skills set that produces positive results via open, honest, and respectful relationships and communication. I am an organized and structured individual that respects processes, systems, detail, organization, and I incorporate measurement, feedback, and results based outcomes into the core of my work and responsibilities.Specialties: I have been involved in two major project start-ups, the Calgary Transit Light Rail Project in 1981 and The Calgary Dream Centre in 2002. I bring a sense of innovation and structure as a contributor to the projects implimentation and succcess.
