I am an excellent example of the youth development principle of "fostering belonging, trust and a sense of family with 6 to 17 year old youth by being a "confidant" in order to provide ongoing positive supports to 6 to 17 year old program youth and their family members.I maintain consistent interactions with parents to proactively and positively address youth/parent conflicts and family issues. I also have experience implementing innovative youth incentive programs to accomplish programs such as a "100 Days of Non-violence Site Challenge" to achieve peaceful youth interactions and more positive outcomes for program participants and "Young People Talking It Out (YPTIO)", group sessions that allow youth to speak truthfully about themselves and their peers. In addition, "Family Dinner Nights" were scheduled once a month for youth and their families. I am currently pursuing an Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education and the lessons are incorporated when working and improving youth's developmental standards learned from my degree courses to all interactions with the 6 to 17 year old youth participants and their families.
