My responsibilities extend beyond daily development tasks to include making strategic decisions on technology selection and implementation. I oversee the entire development lifecycle, from front-end and server-side development to rigorous testing and seamless deployment, ensuring operational integrity and continuous advancement.Accomplishments:- Developed a SPA (single page application) for a SaaS platform, adhering to best-practice UI/UX design principles and incorporating E2E testing to ensure a robust and visually appealing application.- Optimised performance strategies to significantly improve website efficiency, achieving enhancements in areas such as page load times and Time to Interactive (TTI).- Lead rebuilds of key platform search functionality to ensure extensibility and maintainability. This involved rebuilding search from legacy stored procedure approach, to extensible search over multiple connected entities with the ability to extend search and data retrieval via a configurable mapping system.- Maintained authentication server and API server functionalities to ensure secure and efficient operations.- Designed and developed an ABAC role and permission system based on Hasura, centralising user permissions in JWT, and internal permissions to control data access and website functions.- Enhanced security by implementing an email verification workflow for user password resets and upgrading JWT from symmetric to asymmetric encryption.- Designed a queue worker server, improving task control and reducing server and database load.- Implemented password hashing and remediated other key OWASP non-compliance issues.- Moved most of the RESTful APIs to GraphQL to streamline data fetching and enhance flexibility in the platform architecture.
