Responsible for the development and implementation of equity and gilts trading systems. This was a truly exciting time with Merrill Lynch's entry into the U.K. Stock Exchange. Implemented uk and foreign equity trading and middle office systems. This was followed up with the implementation of Gilts market making system interfacing Bloomberg into middle office trading system. Interfacing developed in conjunction with New York colleagues.Worked extensively with various trade matching systems - U.K. Stock exchange, euroclear/cedel and also in those days Telex for settlement instructions.

Responsible for the coding and testing of front office dealing system for U.K. and foreign securities. Interesting work which gave invaluable insight into front end trade processing and dealing desk environments . The technology may have changed today but the processes remain the same although regulation has become much tougher!
