Crossley is a writer.After completing his graduate studies in Film and Experimental Media at Hornsey School of Art in 1968, Gary Crossley's career encompassed fine art practice, theatre design, interior design and filmmaking before bringing him into the field of higher education. His work (as a member of Light/Sound Workshop) has been shown on the BBC TV, Fox TV (Australia), CBS News (United States). He has exhibited at ICOGRADA, the ICA, the Milan Triennale, MOMA Oxford, Young Contemporaries. He has taught in Fine Art and time-based media widely both here and in Australia. As a professional educator he contributed to the work of the CNAA, HEQC, HEFCE and SCOP/CVCP. He retired as Principal/CEO of The Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London in 2006 having established Central as an institution with degree-awarding powers and as a federal member of the University of London. He now writes full-time with a number of published short stories under his belt.
