I am part of a despatch team in a very fast paced fleet hire business managing a fleet of 20,000 plus fleet vehicles ranging from small cars up to large trucks. We supply all vehicle types up and down the country to a vast amount of companies including MJ Quinn, Balfour Beatty, United Utilities, BT Civil. I allocate and make sure every vehicle due for delivery has the correct specification the customer has requested as well has a full MOT, taxed, in service and all mechanical work has been maintained. I work with numerous other departments ranging from a service department to the workshop on a daily basis. I have a team of 100 plus drivers who I have to allocate deliveries to throughout the course of each day. Making sure all deliveries are met on time and tieing all drivers routes in with collections that have been off hired throughout the country.

warehouse team manager I would oversee the daily running of the warehouse from goods in to goods out. I managed a team of 60 plus staff. Running the whole team in a positive manner. I provided feedback throughout the day to all team members through the KPI's that were set out. I would issue pick orders to all pickers using WMS and provide all packers with the priority orders as we were dealing in patients medical equipment. I was the go to person for all Health and Safety issues and would try to resolve any issues that arose. I had to liaise with various haulage companies to ensure all deliveries were met on time and in a costly manner. I started off working across all departments in the warehouse from goods in, processing, picking, packing, putaway and despatch. I was able to drive all types of trucks in the warehouse ie PPT, LLOP, REACH TRUCK, COUNTERBALANCE. Became a Grade 3 in the despatch department were I became a go to person on the shop floor. Having to make sure all orders were loaded onto numerous different haulage carriers in a safe and correct manner and meeting the timelines so all customers wouldn't have delayed orders. I became a Health and Safety representative for 4 years in the company were I would carry out Health and Safety tours around the warehouse on a weekly basis and pass my findings on to higher management and Health and Safety officers. I attended monthly Health and Safety meetings with other representatives and higher management were we would discuss any issues and how we would strive to continue with the H&S objectives over due course. Became a Team leader of the picking department were I would issue orders to pickers scanners using AS400 and provide feedback throughout the day to all of the picking team. Gained an IOSH accreditation meaning I was able to take out risk assessments through all departments of the warehouse.
