Throughout my career, I have worked closely with adults with learning disabilities, including autism and profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), focusing on managing behaviours of concern.In this role, I developed strong communication skills, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and stakeholders to ensure the well-being and progress of individuals in my care. I’ve utilised a variety of communication methods, including Makaton, to support individuals with limited verbal abilities, while also taking a proactive role in de-escalation techniques such as Team Teach.A significant part of my responsibilities involved organisation and time management. Working in a fast-paced environment, I was tasked with managing complex schedules, supporting individuals with varying needs, and ensuring compliance with care standards and protocols. My attention to detail was crucial in ensuring accurate care plans, monitoring progress, and maintaining a safe environment for both clients and staff.I am experienced in team collaboration, having worked alongside colleagues to implement strategies that support individual development and promote safety.
