I has been involved in the motorsport and events industry for the past 35 years; in my early days as a volunteer Marshal, and then Chief Incident Officer for Silverstone Circuits Ltd. In 1997 the MSA (National ASN) invited me to undertake the role of Chief Incident Officer for the British Grand Prix, a role that I held for 7 years. During this period as an MSA accredited training instructor I along with a colleagues developed and delivered the BRDC Marshals’ Club training programme.In 1998 I joined Silverstone Circuits Ltd as Track Operations Manager, a position that saw me oversee the day-to-day operations and safety management of Britain’s premier Motor Racing Circuit. This enabled me establish close working relationships with National and World governing bodies, through which I obtained a wealth of knowledge and experience.2008 saw me join the Apex Circuit Design team as Operations Advisor with the primary focus for the Eurasia Autodrome Domodedovo project. Working closely with Russian colleagues my main responsibilities included the venues operational structure, policy’s and event delivery.In 2009 I joined Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management (ADMM) as Senior Circuit Manager of Yas Marina Circuit, a position that saw me manage the setting up and delivering all track operational requirements i.e. track safety & medical services for the inaugural Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, this was a pivotal point for Yas Marina Circuit allowing the developer and operator to integrate at an early stage of the development. Once operational my responsibilities were focused for the track management, it’s compliance to World governing body guidelines, the safe operation of daily motorsport/commercial activities & the delivery of World Championship events to include race control management and marshals training program.
