Gary Deaton Email and Phone Number
I will start by saying I'm a simple guy that like's to keep job title's, experience and etc simple ! No big terminology here.I will also say I'm a firm believer in bringing the trades and apprenticeship programs back. I started my career in machining by attending D.Russel Lee Career center my junior and senior year of high school taking Machine Trades and graduating in 1990 . After graduation I was able to get into a Tool and Die apprenticeship at H&H Machine Tool in Dayton, Oh. Here I was able to work beside and learn from some of the best tool maker's in Dayton at the time , over my four year career there I learned the complete process from start of raw material , the machining steps, and final assembly and testing of special machinery as a tool helper . I also attended Sinclair Community college for a couple of years taking various classes that pertained to the skill .My final year there I was pretty much on my own under low supervision from my Tool Maker , making my path as a Tool Maker myself over seeing my own jobs. I left this job and went to Willard Industries in Cincinnati. Here it was a aluminum foundry that was getting into their own machining in house instead of outside contractor. Here I worked closely with the Machine shop Manager to make special fixtures for production machining, Once we got everything made and in place , I overseen the production and fixed issues as they came up to keep production going . In 2000 I was able to get hired at Rockwell Automation /Reliance Electric. I worked 2.5 years on second shift as a machinist. Here is where I started my career in the electric motor industry. I learned repairing housings, shafts , turn and undercutting armature's, balancing, and other processes of repairing and modifying for customers. I also received my Journeyman's card through the UAW for tool machining. In mid 2002 I got offered a position at Kiemle Hankins for a job on day shift. While working here I was able to learn and further my knowledge in the trade . I was able to include learning pumps and blowers along with more learning on AC/DC motors , sleeve bearing motors and etc. Here I wore a few different hats , I was the machinist, mechanic of rotating equipment .I also got into the Field service part of the trade, such as installing, laser alignment, general vibration and etc. In 2008 I went back to work at Reliance/Baldor which Integrated Power Services bought. Here I am the lead machinist and also the shop group lead. I have learned a lot in my career in the field from leadership to getting quality products back to customers.
