I retired as a mental health counselor in August of 2017. Since then I have been working on building my photography portfolio and writing about regional history, politics, arts, geography, news, people, ideas, education, sports, the Great Plains, and the human condition as it pertains to Siouxland -- an area that includes southeast South Dakota, northwest Iowa, northeast Nebraska, and Southwest Minnesota. My stories often feature my photographs that help tell the story of the topics I'm writing about.
