To lead and develop the Group Marine Operations Strategy across Peel Ports 7 harbour authorities with a key focus on all matters relating to the Port Maritime Safety Code. Leading the evolution of marine operations, ensuring that safety standards are maintained, statutory responsibilities are industry leading and commercial opportunities are fully explored.

Directly responsible for career management and development of the entire UK Fleet Air Arm officer corps including Identifying talent, chairing promotion and command selection boards; acting as Board Advisor to senior director chaired selection boards.

Successfully ran within budget the day-to-day operational and tactical delivery of the UK Amphibious Task Group output with a Headquarters of 26 permanent staff charged with the control of all warships, aircraft, marines and soldiers allocated to the force.

As part of a small team developed the UK's strategic military plans and drafted the operational directives.

As the Commanding Officer responsible for the cross functional leadership and management of a complex warship deployed on operations. Responsible for the operational preparedness and effectiveness of that unit including its people and weapon systems and the sustainment of these whilst deployed. Included deployment as part of the post 9/11 multi national task force operations in the middle east (Operation Oracle).
