Recruiting and Retention Manager – MSgt. (2009-present)• Manage recruiting and retention operations for a Mobile Ground Radar Unit.• Conduct ongoing assessments of manpower needs with the Commander and plan and formulate recruitment action plans.• Proactively establish relationships throughout the Southwestern Connecticut zone including high schools and colleges for recruiting visits.• Promote the Guard through phone calls, mailings, advertising/billboards and various community events.• Serve as a Resource Advisor Assistant for unit recruiting budgets.• Qualify prospective recruits, conduct detailed background and medical records checks and ensure physical and mental aptitude tests are administered.• Provide job/career counseling based on recruit’s desires and qualifications.• Facilitate orientation of medical benefits, GI Bill contracts, Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill and education/tuition benefits.• Process enlistment and re-enlistment bonuses.• Manage the Career Motivational Program for the Commander to assess possible upcoming resignations, manpower needs and provide counseling on new career assignments and cross-training to retail personnel.

Recruited qualified civilian candidates from a 185-square-mile area of Hartford, Connecticut. Initiated advertising, promotion and public-relations programs for 15 high schools, a college, and various organizations. Conducted vocational qualification testing and prepared enlistment and commissioning case files for new recruits. Managed a Delayed Entry Program and supervised an average of 10 to 15 recruits monthly.

Loads and unloads nuclear and nonnuclear munitions, explosives, and propellant devices on aircraft. Manages, controls, maintains, and installs aircraft bomb, rocket, and missile release, launch, suspension, and monitor systems; guns and gun mounts; and related munitions handing, loading, and test equipment.
