ERI / MRI Receiving Inspector

Responsible for product quality and quality operations at Paragon Machine and Aerospec Paint and finish.CMM Programming via Zeiss (Calypso) and DEA (Tutor). Develop programs from sold models. Operation and maintenance of all inspection equipment. In-process Insp., Final Insp. & First Article per AS9102.Ensure product quality throughout the facilities. Calibration Systems Control and Recall. Maintain the ICAR & SCAR System. Compose and implement AS9003 Quality System.

Inprocess / Final Inspection

Mechanical Receiving Inspection and Tool & Gage Room Calibration Tech. Perform Layout inspections of Casting / forgings as needed. Perform investigation al inspections to determine cause for failure and work with Engineering to establish Cause & Corrective action.

Responsible for the QA/QC Department, Purchasing Dept., Production Control & Stock Room.

Responsible for Plant operations on the 2nd & 3rd shifts. Supervise 12 - 20 Employees. Oversee all Quality, Schedule and Process requirements. Assist all personal in the performance of their duties, resolve Drawing conflicts, evaluate program errors and convey problems to Engineering for corrective actions. Perform In-process, First piece and Final Inspections as needed. Familiar with AS400 Operating System, Windows 95/98, MS Access, MS Word.

Responsible for meeting Customer needs during production run of the Filter line, Media Line and permanent filter lines. Evaluate problems and perform or implement corrective actions as needed. Program TRUMPF 160 CNC Punch machine for production on the Sheet metal line, perform plant wide machine trouble shooting & repairs as needed.

Responsible for the operation of the Paint & Deburr Departments.Supervise 14 Employees in the performance of their duties, schedule work in-process to meet production demands & time tables, expedite all work through machine shop, perform visual and dimensional inspection of work in-process as an added QC function. Perform periodic Employee reviews as prescribed by company guidelines and procedures.

Perform 1st. Piece, In-Process, Receiving & Final Inspections. Calibration Functions, consisting of Thread Gages, OD & ID Micrometers, Bore Gages, Height gages, indicators, Calipers, Plug gages Ovens, Pressure gages, request & schedule outside calibration as needed. Program & utilize Zeiss CMM for inspection.

Incoming Inspection Lead PersonPerform inspections on complex casting & forgings to ensure machine-ability assist other inspection personal in the performance of their duties to include drawing interpretation & inspection techniques. Work closely with Engineering & Quality Engineering to evaluate defects found during inspections, maintain Vendor control logs for performance evaluations. Assist Machine Shop Inspectors in set ups & 1st Piece Inspections. Implement an AS400 inspection History Data Base and train personal in the use of the operating system.

Responsible for the Incoming, In-Process, Final Inspection, Archive and Calibration Departments. Promoted to Supervisor from within the Inspection department. Consisting of 29 employee'sReview and evaluate rejections of product from Incoming & shop floor inspectors. Perform Material Review Board Functions and implement Corrective Actions to In-house Departments and Outside Vendors as needed. Reviewed and evaluated department procedures for possible changes that would streamline or improve the Quality process. Implemented a computerized Calibration recall system to facilitate 20,000 tools of various types. Implemented a computerized Incoming Inspection History Data Base along with a Material Certification Records Log. Streamlined the Incoming Inspection Department From 8 persons down to 4 persons in the course of 5 months without impacting product flow.Worked closely with our customers during Audits, and was part of the crew to implement ISO9000 in the facility. Assist Quality Engineering & Engineering in the Evaluation of Product failure, perform tear down inspections of failed units to determine cause and corrective action. Perform Employee Performance reviews and work closely with Human Resources to facilitate the proper company reactions to employee's questions and concerns.

Primary responsibility was to perform 1st Piece Inspection of machined parts to ensure drawing compliance and or to detect drawing errors and relay these to Engineering and or programming as needed. These Inspections were performed using a wide variety of Inspection Equipment consisting of Surface plate, Brown & Sharpe Micro Height, DEA CMM , Height Gages, Bore gages, Plain & Thread Plug Gages. Sin Plates and other hand Inspection tooling. Provide data to Quality and Design Engineers and assist in interpretation of data in order that Engineering may determine appropriate disposition and corrective action.Instruct and direct new employees and provide assistance to lesser skilled inspection personal. Assist Calibration Department when needed.

Inspector Class AResponsibility was the Inspection of mechanical parts, electronic components and Electro-mechanical assemblies and sub assemblies of a complex nature.Monitored Assembly and Test personal in the performance of Acceptance Test Procedures at systems level.Complete understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, ANSI Y14.5 along with a working knowledge of H28, MiIL-STD-105D, MIL-Q-9858, MIL-I-45208, MIL-S-52779.Provided input to higher management as requested and upon direction, developed, implemented and maintained a complete gage and instrument Calibration System in compliance with MIL-STD-45662 and MIL-STD-120.Worked closely with NAVSEA during the BOA Reconstruction of the AN-SPS49 Radar pedestal.

First piece, In-Process & Final inspections utilizing surface plates in conjunction with precision measuring instruments, CMM's & optical Comparators. Assisted Gage lab personal in calibration and provided gauging equipment to operators.

Inspector Class BIn Process and Final Inspection of various electrical and mechanical assemblies that are part of the MK92 Naval Fire Control systems.Progressed from Inspection to Instrument Repairman in the Calibration Lab involving work on power meters, power supplies wattmeter's and voltmeters.Progressed further to the responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the Metrology Lab for tool and gage calibration, which involved a computerized recall system.

Assembly and installation of Power distribution Panels, AC / DC wiring harnesses. Installation of Engines, Generators, Batteries, Charging Systems, Depth finders, and some Radar's.Performed final Inspection and test on finished products for the Electrical department. Runout on all Electrical Systems with subsequent troubleshooting and repair.

Tester Class AProduction testing and troubleshooting of major and sub assemblies to component level using a Varity of test equipment. Complete understanding of the use of the DITMCO automatic Circuit Analyzer.

Installation and test of telephone step and electronic switching equipment. Installation, test and maintenance of emergency back up power systems for the telephone switching facilities.
