An experienced senior manager who has worked in the public sector in the UK and New Zealand over the past 20 years. This has included 10 years in HR management within UK local government undertaking and managing a wide range of HR functions. Since 2001 I worked for the Audit Commission as a best value inspector and senior performance specialist focusing on corporate governance inspections of local councils, fire services. police and health services. I was then promoted to a senior management role responsible for the delivery of audit activity in the south west of England including Comprehensive Area Assessments. After the abolition of the Audit Commission I moved to New Zealand to take up a position managing the delivery of national performance audits for the Auditor-General’s office. I have had the opportunity to work in Samoa to establish a performance audit function for the Samoa Audit Office and have also undertaken audit activity in Australia. I moved into several senior roles with the Tasmanian State Government including Deputy Auditor-General for the State audit function. I have now returned to the UK taking up a position of Audit Director for Audit Wales with a lead responsibility for local government performance audit activity.
