When cabooses were still being used, I had several conductors compliment me on the smooth ride they received when I was their Locomotive Engineer.... This was very gratifying! Once the cabooses were eliminated, train handling really didn't matter any more. Fred wouldn't complain when he bumped his head..... A terrific career that has left me with many, many fond memories of the great people I had the pleasure of working with and the dedication they had to doing an exemplary job.
