ABOUTWhen the Glass Fire raged over the Napa Valley Palisades it burned up everything that I owned including all the physical records of my past. As I sat amidst the smoldering ruins in a paralyzed catatonic state, I realized that I could reinvent myself. What is it that I wanted to do? Now, I see a metaphoric fire raging on the horizon. The billowing clouds of smoke show evidence of an impending fight between autocracy and democracy. It’s an inflection point, and I want to combine all the skills and experience I’ve acquired in politics and video production to ensure that democracy prevails. I’m currently writing and producing ads in support of Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party. VIDEO EXPERIENCEI’ve produced programs for ABC News, PBS, Special Reports TV, corporations, schools, non-profit organizations and government. My experiences have taken me from working with Mexican migrant workers in the Napa Valley vineyards, traipsing through the heart of the Amazon with a Shaman, teaching video production in the barrios of Managua, documenting subjects ranging from Cirque Du Soleil to postpartum depression, and producing news in ABC’s anchor booth for both the Democratic and Republican Conventions. As a representative for the Video Project, I helped the Academy Award winning documentaries “Women For America For the World” and “The Panama Deception”. POLITICAL EXPERIENCEI worked in several capacities for US Congressmen including disseminating press releases, writing legislation and congressional testimony, as a constituent caseworker and as a campaign manager. Part of the political process included working for The National Committee for an Effective Congress (NCEC) where we participated in over 80 Congressional Campaigns helping with strategy, getting out the vote and targeting. Other political activity was more as an activist for Neighbor to Neighbor who helped Caesar Chavez and Delores Huerta and the United Farm Workers.
