South London born & bred - Family originally from Battersea, then Stockwell, but moved to Bexleyheath when I was aged 9. At 19 I moved back up town to Peckham, and have lived around South London ever since: Tulse Hill, Walworth, Aylesbury Est, Camberwell, Peckham Sumner Est, Ladywell, and now Deptford for the last 30 years. Had too many jobs to mention, but became a literacy teacher in 2008/9, working mostly with 16 to 19 yr olds, the majority of which have had poor engagement with education previously. I have enjoyed the challenges this brings immensely, as I realised I am doing a job that not many others can do. On occassions, It can be devastatingly depressing, but it can also be immensely satisfying and joyful. Especially when you have good colleagues around you, who all help and support each other, which means that I'm still learning new ways to teach a lesson, or manage a classroom. I would consider any job offers in South London area that involved educating 16 to 18 year olds - Something, I have been told, I am quite good at.
