I then moved to the Lee Flood Relief Channel which is where I began my career in flood prevention maintaining and operating large complex structures as well as proving incident response, the business then changed due to privatization and TWA split becoming a private organisation, we became the National Rivers Authority (NRA) until 1995 when we became the Environment Agency. My roles started from a manual team member onto lead Team member and now line manager, throughout my career I've managed many change processes and seen lots of them come and go. I've led on the improvement and development of our areas Flood Incident Plans whilst planning our incident response training maintaining an effective efficient incident team constantly looking at better ways of working whilst trying to reduce our carbon footprint.
