CurrentWashington State University Extension County Chair for Cowlitz CountyIn addition to responsibilities listed below, I am also accountable for:-Administration and development of county office budget.-Supervise Supervises one full-time 4-H Program faculty member, 2 part time Food $ense Program Assistants, and an administrative assistant. Also supervises and oversees training of a part time Workforce position. -Development and implementation of office civil rights efforts-Interacts with County Commissioners and other county department heads in carrying out county government public service functions.-Direct Community Development programming for Cowlitz County.-Oversee Master Gardener volunteers-Responsible for educational programming in small farm management, urban horticulture, community development and leadership training programs. - Initiate farm visits and contacts with farmers, agribusiness personnel and the general public.- Organize local workshops, demonstrations and workshops highlighting small farm management.- Participate with farming organizations to provide information and assist in projects.- Organize and participate in local youth workshops in all counties of responsibility to provide training in animal management.- Provide information to the general public to be informed of role of agriculture in production of high quality food and how to access it.
