    I study the structural changes that occur in HIV gp160 during viral entry. By understanding this process at the molecular level, we hope to identify the specific targets of antibody neutralization and uncover new targets for drug discovery. Part of this work involved an HTS campaign that identified inhibitors to a novel target on gp41. My research involves protein engineering, molecular cloning, protein expression and purification, protein crystallization, and structure determination by x-ray crystallography.
