• Five year indentured apprenticeship scheme in Building Services HVAC (1981-1986) as a trainee Contracts Engineer.• Draughting: Skills obtained in all aspects of services co-ordination i.e. pipework, ductwork, air handling equipment, chillers, pumps, boiler plant, plumbing, drainage, public health etc. and builders work requirements.• Designing: Fluid systems, air conditioning and ventilation systems etc.• Estimating: Tendering for projects from in house design to consultant design. • Contract Management: Small and major projects, interfacing with client, end user or Main Contractor. Preparing Programmes of work, site set up, purchasing, cost control/work In progress reporting, labour allocation, interfacing with Quantity Surveyors, final testing/commissioning and production of Operating & Maintenance Instructions/as installed drawings.• Became a Contracts Engineer in 1985 after completion of apprenticeship.• Engineered projects up to £1.5m for end users such as I.C.I Pharmaceuticals, British Telecom, Mattesson Walls, Milk Marketing Board, Moreton Hall School, Honeywell, G-Mex etc.
