At the helm of the FKG Group, Gary Gardner brings extensive experience, insights and entrepreneurial energy to his role of Executive Chairman. Having commenced his career as a carpenter more than 45 years ago, Gary Gardner worked his way through the business, started by his father, gaining both operational and management experience and has now led the Group for the past 40 years. This thorough grounding has given him an understanding of the fundamentals of the associated business entities and leadership and enabled the growth of the FKG Group to include offices throughout Queensland, the Northern Territory and New South Wales with a combined turnover of $650 million. The Group now provides integrated construction, civil engineering, development and support services for the property, resources, infrastructure and government sectors across Australia. Gary understands that the ultimate reputation of the business relies on the success of the client’s projects and strengthening partnerships between key stakeholders. Many of FKG’s current clients have been involved with the company for many years due to the close relationships formed with Gary and his team. As well as managing overall performance of the Group and each of the entities, Gary sees his role as driving the planning process and guiding the organisation towards achievement of its vision in the next phase of the company’s evolution.----------Gary is a member of a number of industry associations and in 2012 was recognised for his entrepreneurial vision, winning the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Northern region service category.
