JCG Hong Kong Ltd (“JCG”) has evolved from a re-structuring of our Consultancy Practice to better reflect the emergence and focus of the current operations. JCG operates between Perth, Western Australia and Hong Kong.Our expertise extends to facilitating the collaboration between International and Hong Kong based businesses, mainland China and internationally in Commodity Trade Facilitation, Innovation and IP business development. A particular focus is commodity trading in gold, sugar, soybean and other agricultural products. As an extension of the commodity trading services we are able to offer fintech services bringing together buyers and sellers to transact using cryptocurrencies, including BTC and USDT purchases and swaps, to complement fiat transactions.Our Consultancy also provides support in our specialist areas including ESG, Sustainability and Innovation.

Gary has worked for over 35 years as a Chartered Accountant both in private practice and in corporate environments. This has included roles as the Principal of Gardner Pope, Chartered Accountants and Gardner Consulting and as CEO of “brand driven” active lifestyle companies, education and vocational training Institutions and professional service organisations. He has taken leadership roles in establishing the vision and strategic direction for these companies and implementing the processes for the development and delivery of core products and services and company growth. Gary has a blend of accounting and business skills which combines a practical, commercial approach to problem solving and negotiations. Special areas of interest include assisting businesses to establish trading structures to allow entry to international markets for investment and trading opportunities and access to private and Government funding for export and research and development support.

Manufacturer and distributor of surf accessory products to the global surf market.From 2001 until early 2010 Gary was a shareholder and the Managing Director of surf accessory manufacturing and distribution company Wet Dreams International Pty Ltd. In November 2001 he facilitated the re-privatisation of the surf industry operations of that company from the publicly listed entity Wet Dreams Limited. He worked with the original founding partners of Wet Dreams to re-structure the business into a globally branded active lifestyle company based on a quality product range, a committed worldwide network of licensees and distributors and innovative new technologies for the surf industry. Gary's responsibility was for the overall operational control of the group including brand management, licensing and distribution agreements, intellectual property and technology and working with all directors to implement the strategic business plan for the development of the company on a global scale.

Managing Director - West Coast Institute of Management & TechnologyIn 1996 Gary was approached to mentor a business migrant in the creation of an Institute of Management & Technology (WCIMT) for domestic and international students and as a vocational training centre. After the establishment and registration of the business the principal became ill and Gary assumed the role of Managing Director. He took the business from start-up to full Registered Training Organisation (RTO) status and CRICOS registration for international student intakes. He established joint venture arrangements with educational institutions throughout Asia and organised partnering and articulation of courses with Australian Universities. 1999 - 2001Managing Director – Auston Institute of Management & TechnologyIn 1999 Gary was approached to develop another Institute using the same business model and from that time through to 2001 created the Swan Institute of Management & Technology which then became part of Singaporean based education provider Auston Unicorp.

Partner - Coleman & GardnerGary was the founder in 1985 and until 1996, Business Consulting Services partner with Coleman & Gardner, Certified Practising Accountants, a consultancy practice working with clients to develop their businesses, strategically with respect to planning and growth and technically in terms of practical corporate and taxation advice.In October 1996 he withdrew from the practice to form Gardner Consulting, Chartered Accountants. This allowed him to work more closely with individual clients in his specialist areas in international taxation, business structuring and re-organisation and strategic planning, particularly as it related to preparing companies for export of products or services. His main interests are in the areas of export consulting (corporate services, international education and offshore manufacturing).Gary's knowledge of international taxation issues, particularly as they relate to Australian companies dealing internationally, has been a valuable asset for companies considering export opportunities or wishing to establish trading structures overseas.At Coleman & Gardner, he was also responsible for practice clients in the North-West and travelled to Port Hedland, Karratha, Broome and the Northern Territory on a regular basis to service clients in those areas. These programmes were designed to assist companies improve their international competitiveness through better management skills and greater knowledge of products and markets and the latest techniques and technologies.
