I have been in the flooring industry for for forty years. I started my apprenticeship as a carpet fitter at Grange furnishing in Wembley, My Father was the General Manager. Then I became a contract floor layer, working for private individuals and major companies including Building Societies and Casino's.I started Avalon Flooring when my father was made redundant in 1982 We opened our first shop in St Johns Wood London and a second shop a few years later in Wealdstone.In 1988 we relocated to larger premises in St Albans and opened another shop in Berkhamsted in 2005 specialising in Wood Flooring.In 2007 I decided to move into a brand new purpose built warehouse in Hemel Hempstead due to the large voluume of work we were handling. We also run a flooring trade counter, and an online store for Kahrs wood products. Our prices are significantly cheaper than the shops, and a huge amount cheaper than the multiple retailers who proclaim huge discounts.My goal was to retire at 30 But I just love my profession because i like to deal with interesting customers and there diverse needs, And above all its never a dull moment and every job and enquiry is different!Specialties: We have specialist installers for all types of flooring, Carpets, Laminates, Amtico, Karndean,Safety Flooring, Astro Turf, Solid Wood, Engineered Wood, Vinyl, Carpet tiles, Leather flooring, Rubber Mondopave, You name it we can source it.
