About Gary Geiss

I am a scientist and team leader with 18 years of inventing and commercializing breakthrough molecular barcoding assays. I have a proven track record of 'getting stuff done', solving the challenges of early product development and working with customers on commercial applications of the technology. With experience of launching three multiplexing platforms, I have deep understanding on the processes required to integrate molecular assays with both instruments and software to form a successful product. My specific expertise covers a diverse range of nucleic acid and protein analytes and applied to both bulk measurements and spatial biology contexts. . As Senior Director-Research I have built motivated and cross-functional teams that work together to deliver on the strategic roadmap and scientific vision of the company. I strive to be a respected and trusted leader that leads by example and communicates clearly with my team and others. This approach has helped launch more than a dozen products across multiple barcoding platforms.Things I enjoy doing successfully:• Solving scientific problems that lead to commercial products.• Helping customers with the design and application of company products to answer scientific questions.• Building and managing motivated and cross-functional teams that make robust assays.• Working collaboratively with product development, manufacturing, marketing, and research teams to launch novel multiplexed platforms.• Designing and integrating molecular assays to work with instrument hardware, software, and analysis tools. • Developing and delivering long-term strategic roadmaps, resource planning and product release schedules.• Communicating company technology to early adopters, influential customers, commercial partners, and internal support staff. • Thriving in a faced-paced, dynamic company culture where cross-functional teams work synergistically to build new breakthrough technologies.
