Gary Goldman retired in October 2019 and is transitioning into consulting. Gary is the previous owner of Truly Yogurt in Wellesley, Massachusetts where he was at the helm since 1992. Truly Yogurt was consistently ranked as Wellesley’s best ice cream and yogurt store, and has won numerous other accolades in the greater Boston region. Truly Yogurt offers a superior product and customer experience, with more than fifty flavors rotating through the regular line-up. The store itself has grown immensely since Goldman started there in 1992, including a customization of flavors and the development of a soft-serve flavor of the day, which brings customers from all over the Boston area. Truly is now a local favorite, and a community staple, giving back whenever it can and sourcing all of its products from local vendors. Prior to owning and operating Truly, Goldman was Financial Merchandise Controller at Meldisco Corp, a division of Melville, a $2 billion corporation based in New Jersey. Meldisco Corp. operated the shoe department within Kmart stores nationally. Goldman was responsible for making sure that the merchandise goals of the company were consistent with its financial objectives. He spent 15 years at Meldisco, and held numerous other roles in the financial group there. Goldman is most interested in the evolving trends in the ice cream and frozen yogurt industry, a rapidly changing and expanding area, as well as food industry trends in general. He brings a wealth of experience owning and operating a small business, combined with decades of corporate financial experience, in analyzing some of the most pressing issues in retail and food today. He has consulted with several prospective and current food business owners, helping them navigate the multitude of issues that arise from such an industry – location, construction, concept development, regulations and health issues, etc.
