My life has been dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of workers in the construction and environmental remediation fields. For over 30 years, I have had the pleasure of working with a labor/management training organization to achieve this. These two decades have afforded me the opportunity to be involved in the many aspects of worker skills development and health and safety training, including grant management, curriculum development and training. I have a proven track record of utilizing comprehensive industry knowledge to assist in the development of a strategic plan to communicate the organization’s goals. I identified the actions needed to achieve those goals and the critical elements needed to evaluate its success.My greatest achievement during this time is the management of three multi-million dollar federal training grants. Throughout the many years of managing these training grants, I consistently met, and often exceeded, the programmatic goals. I was able to do this while keeping costs within the financial limitations of each grant. I supervised a team of financial and programmatic staff that provided daily support to over 14 participating organizations and hundreds of trainers. Despite budget limitations, I am proud we were able to continually increase training and services offered to achieve organizational goals. We provided skills training, as well as health and safety training to over 15,000 workers, supervisors, employers and local, state and federal government personnel on an annual basis. My extensive experience has instilled in me a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the many steps involved in guiding an organization toward successful achievement of its goals. I am aware of the dynamic nature of education and the importance of training. This is complemented by maintaining an awareness of how evaluation and strategic planning is essential for achieving organizational goals.
