My thirteen years of administrator experience in five different schools have equipped me with the necessary skills and expertise to lead effective teams and develop the skills to problem solve, communicate and move a successful vision forward. I have worked diligently to be innovative in my leadership and pedagogical practice. The success that I have achieved in my principal, vice-principal and teaching roles speak to my progressive approach and my desire to meet the needs of those Iserve. I hold a Masters in Religious Education and a Graduate Certificate in Catholic SchoolAdministration from Newman Theological College, which have enhanced my faith andleadership capabilities. I believe that as an Educational leader, I am continually seekingand developing the skills and attributes needed to be impactful as a principal and believe that Ican translate these to any vocation.Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with a variety of staff who havehelped me grow in my instructional and servant leadership skills. Currently, as the principal at St. Joseph High School I have moved the collective leadership forward in our community, collectively leading our implementation of school improvement initiatives that have enhanced instructional practice to reflect the diversity of students within our classrooms. Ultimately improving student learningand success. As an instructional leader I have demonstrated the ability to nurture and enhanceschool climate, foster strong individual instructional practice amongst staff, establish focusedcommunication within my community and use sound research to enhance instructional practice.As an administrator in Red Deer Catholic Schools, I have been part of various initiatives andteams to help collectively enhance and move our division forward and have been responsiblefor the mentorship, evaluation, and instructional leadership of all staff in my communities asprincipal. My experience on these teams will serve me well in learning the key factors that areneeded to ensure my success in any position.My passion for education has been instrumental in guiding my career, and I believe that I possess the necessary attributes for effective leadership in a variety of positions. I have been commended by colleagues for my ability to create positive rapport within my school community, my strong instructional leadership skills, and my energetic passion towards education, always challenging myself to learn, grow and improve.
