Joined the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) in Brisbane, July 2nd 1979. I have been part of the Queensland Fire Service (QFS), Queensland Fire and Rescue Authority (QFRA), Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) and the present Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES).I passed the QFRS Station Officer Examinations in 2000.I have worked as a Fire Officer in the Queensland Fire & Emergency Services (QFES) for over 37 years, from an operational position and in numerous day work roles.I am currently working in the Community Safety Unit after successfully completing the Building Assessment Officers (BAO) Course and BAO post mentoring examinations. I am working in the BAO Office in Brisbane Region. One of the most interesting and challenging positions and areas I have ever worked in.I was an Acting Inspector as the Manager for Major Accounts in the Training and Emergency Management Unit in the Operational Service Improvement and Performance Directorate.I was previously a Safety Assessment Officer (SAO) in the Safety Assessment Unit of the Community Safety Operations.I have been part of Technical Rescue in the QFES since its inception and have deployed intra – state, interstate and on overseas Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Deployments for both Australia and representing Australia on behalf of the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) in Borneo.I worked in the State Operations Branch (SOB) for 4years where I have gained experience in Acting Inspector positions in Operations Capability, Operational Improvement, State Operations Coordination Centre and the Doctrine and Planning Unit. I also possess a wealth of knowledge in Brisbane Region in its capabilities and priorities, and shift personnel whom I have worked with for many years.
