Design from scratch, developed and debugged all the functions for the Smart Upgrade feature by using C/C++ from Domino/Notes 6.0 to 9.0 (IBM Lotus Notes Smart Upgrade is an automatic updating process for Notes Client version on the local machine) Developed auto restart Notes client and series Smart Upgrade patch kits & configuration user guide. Added Desktop Smart Upgrade policy in the Domino Directory to distribute standard settings and configuration across groups, or entire organizations and gives the Notes client user permission if this Notes Client has available kit to upgrade. Implemented showing the debug information for the Smart Upgrade installing Notes client process to trace the Smart Upgrade the log information and updated the Smart Upgrade source codes in Rational Clearcase ; Created function for automatically detecting user name and installation path and running MSI silent installation, installing MUI kits in Smart Upgrade process with passing arguments in Smart Upgrade application. Added function to change permission in post installation to fix unix install permission in W32/Unix ISMP installation.Created Search functions in the Smart Upgrade kits for version, regular expression, wild card match and multiple kits matches with kit fail over from shared network kit to attachment kit and with database fail over from server to server. Developed The Smart Upgrade Governor process in Domino server manages how many users to access the Smart Upgrade database in the same time. Designed and Created New MAC Installer for both MAC OS 9 and MAC OS X in Smart Upgrade; Created Unix Domino server Install Preview Panel from Java codes in the ISMP installer for Unix and Windows. Added registry functions to upgrade Domino server from V6 to V7 for Windows installation . Developed user action of the pre- and post-installation wizard for Unix ISMP installation in in Perl5 script.
