I ensured that all defects were closed down. • TransportI managed the O’Licence, vehicles & driver compliance while ensuring that the regular maintenance was upheld and defects were closed down. I had been involved in discussions with suppliers, formulating a specification for our fleet of vehicles, i.e. pickups, crew busses, fitter vans & tool vans.• FittersI managed the fitters who did the maintenance and repairs of the plant. I scrutinised and vetted their time-sheets and job-sheets. I arranged the night fitter cover, authorised holidays and overtime. I followed up on their job-sheets to ensure that all outstanding work was completed.• WorkshopsI managed two workshops including;1. Controlling the Lifting & Testing schedules. 2. Responsibilities:• Working under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment to systematically manage the logistics of plant and machinery movements as well as the allocation of external plant hires in the most economically advantageous way • Streamlining procedures to maximise efficiencies including redefining the way Contracting instructs hauliers• Costing all equipment to the correct jobs and hiring additional vehicles and equipment when required • Leading discussions… Show more Responsibilities:• Working under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment to systematically manage the logistics of plant and machinery movements as well as the allocation of external plant hires in the most economically advantageous way • Streamlining procedures to maximise efficiencies including redefining the way Contracting instructs hauliers• Costing all equipment to the correct jobs and hiring additional vehicles and equipment when required • Leading discussions with suppliers on service or equipment issues including conducting supplier negotiations regarding charges for plant damages while continually reviewing procedures and taking action to reduce further incidents• Maintaining strong lines of communication with Coordinators across other regions to maximise the utilisation of company assets and increase efficiency across projects • Proactively coordinating and facilitating prompt third party or company repairs, keeping fleet downtime to a minimum and commissioning replacements where necessary • Ordering materials for sites in addition to monitoring and recording actual material delivered as well as setting up and running a control system to ensure the timely order, delivery and documenting of materials for all jobs• Collaborating with Contract Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Estimators to plan and organise the requirements, costings and pricing of upcoming or potential jobs • Attending to other duties to enable the smooth and effective daily operation of the plant including resolving invoicing queries, sourcing specialist equipment and training new admin staff Show less
