Purchased 24 Laser Trackers providing 10 of those to other company sites. Negotiated site licenses for the Metrology software saving in excess of $250 thousand dollars on the total purchase and enabling each company facility to utilize common equipment and processes. Incorporated Automated Numerical Control Processes allowing direct download from CATIA to N/C Equipment Reported to Vice President of Operations

Responsible for the management of the Detail Fabrication Manufacturing Engineering Group. This consisted of approximately 100 Engineers assigned to the areas of Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering and Producibility Engineering supporting multiple programs and shops.Manufacturing Engineering for Detail Parts was responsible for identifying all build package components and establishing the Tooling Philosophy and Manufacturing plan. Build package requirements include; Manufacturing Planning, Tool Design, N/C Programming, Capital and Facilities requirements in addition to all material handling and product shipping requirements. Performed corrective action, liaison between Engineering and manufacturing, supporting the Program Offices and providing customer interface. This entire activity is performed in support of all Advanced Composite Applications in addition to all Metallic ProcessesReported to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering

Responsible for all Manufacturing Engineering requirements for detail parts fabrication supporting the Air Force B-2 Bomber program. Managed approximately 30 Manufacturing Engineers.The B2 primarily contained 36 thousand pounds of advanced composite structure for the Intermediate Wing Section produced by Vought. In such, I had extensive efforts in Composite Technologies including ATLM, Hand Lay Up, Honeycomb Core applications, Multiple Material systems including Metal Bond. In addition to the composite structure we had robotic drill and assembly systems, robotic Abrasive Water Jet technology, Super Plastic Forming (SPF) of Titanium and heavy machining processesPreparation of program related proposals and Statements of Work, incorporation of engineering changes and development of manufacturing plans.Reported to the Program IPT in addition to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering.

Responsible for the management of an Industrial Engineering Group who participate in the preparation and negotiating of proposals for new business opportunities Advanced Concepts and New Business Estimating.Included the direction of an Industrial Engineering Group who prepared, fact found, and negotiated proposals and customer directed engineering changes affecting the Air Force B-2 Program. Additional responsibilities included cost reporting, budget administration and performance measurement (EAC vs BAC) for the Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling Organizations. This assignment required close contact with all areas of management and direct interaction with our prime contractor and the Air Force Program Management office.Reporting to Director of Industrial Engineering

Responsible for new business, bids and proposals efforts for the Manufacturing Engineering and Tool Manufacturing organizations. Reporting to Manager of Industrial EngineeringIdentified total Non-Recurring Tooling cost, prepared estimate rationale, estimated and participated in contract negotiations Developed a Performance Measurement Plan for Tool Manufacturing. This encompassed development of tool standards for application in the tooling shop for performance measurement and for new business and proposal efforts.Oversaw the shop loading of the Tool Manufacturing Areas for the purpose of determining current manpower requirements and forecasting long term needs.

Responsible for building new tooling, repair and maintenance of tools and machines, set-up and the initial operation of new machining systems, and providing floor level Manufacturing Engineering support in trouble-shooting manufacturing problems in the machining, assembly and the test areas. This position involved building all types of tools and gages required to produce, at high volume, automotive parts for fuel and ignition systems. These tools and machines had to be capable of maintaining and repeating extremely close tolerances in a high volume automotive manufacturing environment.
