When carrying out this challenging and busy role I was responsible for the procurement of home to school transport countywide (and beyond) primarily for special needs transport and am developing into the whole spectrum of publicly funded transport. A major part of my role was acting as Contract Manager for the two largest suppliers of special needs transport to SCC.

My main role was to act as a bridge between Contact Managers, Commissioners, and Social Work colleagues ensuring contracts are correctly written, issued and documented. Alongside this, a huge part of my role was to ensure that providers charge the correct rates and that when this doesn’t happen the providers are positively challenged to ensure that the public purse received the best value for money. I also acted as Contract Manager for Supported Discharge services and am responsible for a wide range of associated task and projects.Between June 2015 and May 2016, I was on secondment as Project Manager Care Act Staff Resources in Adult Community Services. I reported to the Health and Social Care Integration Programme Manager my role was to logistically support ACS’s integration with Health and other service providers as Integrated Neighbourhood Teams are introduced in Suffolk.

Following redundancy from DVLA, I took the opportunity to utilise my many years of experience and provide training services independently whilst seeking alternative employment.

As Development Team Infrastructure Manager my main purpose was to ensure that the DVLA got a positive rate on investment for a team of remote network-based trainers working independently. My role was pivotal in ensuring that the right people were getting the right training at the right time and at the right cost. I was responsible for a range of project activity developing and rolling out new training, product, and initiatives using my skills as a CIPD qualified trainer.
