Accounting – • Maintained multiple accounting software systems. Implemented a conversion from an outdated CRM package to a new custom product as well as being part of a team that implemented six new company websites.• Prepare and maintain daily cash reports.• Supervised all aspects of accounting including preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. • Supervised all payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. • Assisted with the corporate federal and state income tax returns. Challenged to set up an accounting system and internal controls for a company that had not prepared financial statements or bank reconciliations for over 4 months.Consolidated multiple software packages to streamline data flow and reduce overheads. Set up cost accounting & inventory system with over 2,500 items & various jobs to control inventories, costs and standardize our bidding processes.Member of the Key Management team responsible for formulating and implementing corporate strategies and policies. .Reviewed monthly results and presented short and long range plans to our board of directors.Part of the key management team responsible for merging a very unprofitable company (Pears with a newly purchased company (Herman’s), The combined companies achieved an average of 14% sales growth while increasing the net income before taxes from a combined loss of 2% of sales to a profit in excess of 10% of sales on combined operations.Successfully helped position the company for sale that was completed in March 2004.
