Gary Hayes is the Managing Partner of Hayes Brunswick and Partners and a consultant to the Leadership and Succession Practice of Russell Reynolds Associates He has extensive experience in the areas of succession planning, board effectiveness, executive assessment, and facilitating the development of leaders and executive teams. Professional Experience:Gary is also a managing partner at his own firm, Hayes Brunswick & Partners. He spent 25 years providing senior-level leadership advisory consulting to organizations ranging from start-ups to large multinational corporations. His clients have included financial services corporations, legal, accounting, educational and health care firms as well as retail and consumer goods companies. Gary has also developed a strong focus on not-for-profit organizations. He has worked with both management teams and boards of directors to​ create succession profiles and provide the identification and assessment of leadership pipelines for senior succession needs.Professional AffiliationGary has published numerous articles on leadership development topics, ranging from the effects of "groupthink" at Enron to the need to integrate succession planning with strategic planning. In 2010, he published his book, Leading in Turbulent Times. Gary and his co-author interviewed over two dozen CEOs around the world on their leadership response to the financial crisis facing the world at that time. Gary is a member of the American Psychological Association. He was Chairman Emeritus of Jennifer Muller The Works, a global modern dance company headquartered in Manhattan. Education:A licensed, practicing psychologist and psychoanalyst, Gary received a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Columbia University as well as Masters Degrees in international affairs and counseling psychology from Columbia and a B.S. in foreign service from Georgetown University. He has served on the faculties of Yeshiva University, the National Institute for Psychotherapies, the Institute for the Psychoanalytic Study of Subjectivity, and Ecole Francaise des Attaches de Presse.​​ Specialties: Consulting with Boards of Directors, CEOs and senior leadership teams with a special focus on CEO and BOD succession planning.
