Retired after 30 years as Manager of Public Relations and Employee Communications for Goodyear's Lawton, Oklahoma Tire Plant, the world's largest tire manufacturing facility, with over 2,500 employees and a massive daily capacity. I directed all media contact, community relations and employee communications work with a staff that grew from myself to six individuals. I also worked with 52 Oklahoma college interns during my term in the job and developed and implemented the first in-house television system in any tire manufacturing facility. Other communications vehicles which I developed and managed include a variety of publications, ranging from magazine to newsletter format, a group of 164 volunteer face-to-face employee communicators and both internal and external news releases. With the assistance of my wife, I developed and directed an employee store and managed the efforts of a volunteer employee group in the design and implementation of 5-6 special events annually, ranging in attendance from 500 to 5,000. I also served as a director of an employee credit union for three years and participated in community efforts including the United Way, The Salvation Army, Crime Stoppers and Drug Busters. I believe that I accomplished my goal of developing the finest employee communications system in any manufacturing facility. My current goals are to enjoy life and to support my daughter, Rina Still, in her professional career at Monster.com.
