Communications SpecialistRepair two-way radio communications equipment in a shop environment that provides reliable equipment for safe and timely response to operational problems. Read and follow schematics and trouble shoot down to component level. Effectively operate radio test equipment and repair Rf equipment. Continuously focuses on safe and efficient compliance with CSX rules and regulations.Primary Activities and Responsibilities• Repair (at component level) two-way radio communications equipment including handheld portable radios, vehicle radios, base stations, head-of-train devices, end-of-train devices, dispatcher radios and any other communications equipment using radio frequencies to transmit voice and/or data, either CSX owned or outside party owned.• Prepare two-way radio communications equipment for assigned projects.• Record repairs in the appropriate databases and follow all quality assurance procedures that are currently in place• Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.Preferred Qualifications• Associates Degree/2-year Degree• 3 or more years of experience in repair and maintenance of two-way communications equipment• FCC LicenseSummary Military Police 31B40 PSG / Infantry 11B PSGLeads 43 person platoon, squads and sections; leads detachments in support of battlefield and installation security measures; plans and coordinates security measures in enemy prisoner of war facilities and civilian internment settlements/resettlements; ensures all platoon equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and PMCS is current; counsel and mentor squad leaders for professional growth. Provides analysis, integration, and synchronization of MP operations in support of operations; serves as the senior functional staff non-commissioned officer responsible for advising the Operations Officer S-3 and the Commander on matters relating to MP operations.
